As a makeup artist or beauty enthusiast, there are several things that are extremely important when picking out a great eye shadow or eye shadow palette. Is the shadow heavily pigmented? Does it last a long time? Are flecks of powder falling all over your cheeks every time you go to apply it? These things should all be considered before investing in a new brand or product.
One brand that has always been a favorite of mine is Urban Decay. Like with most brands, their products work best when they are used together with Urban Decay primers, but the majority of their products still yield great results regardless of whether or not the primers are used. Urban Decay is one of the few brands I will indulge in and pay full price. Most brands offer a regular 40% discount to industry professionals and Urban Decay is not one of them.
After doing my research and trying brand after brand on hundreds of clients, passing up a 40% discount on brands like MAC, Stila, and Smashbox to opt for Urban Decay really speaks wonders about the quality of this brand. The majority of their products are, in fact, worth the price. In particular, one Urban Decay palette that really stands out above the rest is the Urban Decay Black Palette.
If you have ever had difficulty finding a black eye shadow that is super dark and intense, this palette is definitely the one for you. Not only do they have an insanely black shadow in the palette, but they also have a number of other heavily pigmented rich eye shadows that have an incredibly dark finish. This Urban Decay palette also comes with a black eyeliner and an eye shadow primer which works really well with the shadows.
I managed to get mine on sale for around $24 and I used a 20% off coupon at ULTA which brought the price down to around $19, which is an incredible deal. This Urban Decay palette is selling for $36 on the site, but you can get it on Amazon for a couple dollars less. If you are looking to darken up your eye looks, you should definitely give this Urban Decay palette a try.
The “Black Dog” shade in this palette is the blackest black I have come across which is great for ultra dark looks for photo shoots or a night out at a club. You can even use a minimal amount between your lashes to create a super dark, thick look during the day time. All of the other colors are fabulous, as well, and they can be used to create a number of amazing looks. This Urban Decay palette comes highly recommended!
